Opposites

A special thanks to Frances Thomas and Ross Collins.  Thanks to their book Little Monster’s Book of Opposites Gus has now added a three syllable word to his vocabulary.  Next time you see him, be sure to ask him to say “opposite”.

I hate skeeters

Yesterday I swept off the back porch and deck and Gus and I played outside for a short while.   Gus, daddy and I had dinner outside…it was such a pretty evening.    Daddy got Gus up this morning and called me upstairs.   Gus has 20+ mosquito bites all over.   Like his dad (unlike his mom), they [...]

New use for dustbusters

So, today I dustbusted Gus.  You read that right.   I used the dustbuster on my child.   He had toast this morning and it was very crunchy.   All that crunchiness produced lots of crumbiness.   Where there are crumbs, there is a dustbuster.   I started with just his placemat, but couldn’t stop.  I dustbusted his shorts, shirt [...]

The banana incident

So apparently Gus got hungry during the Fresno State game and decided to help himself to a banana.   Smart kid.  The game went to triple overtime and I’m sure that extra potassium helped keep him from cramping up.

yesterday was the day

Gus has been walking for a while, but only from point A to point B and as quickly as possible (and not all the time).   Yesterday he began taking off in every direction with no specific destination.   Along the way he changes his mind and decides to go somewhere else.   We are so happy, yet [...]

Gus ordered a movie

We were in the living room today and Gus was playing with the remote (as usual).  Before Cheryl or I noticed, he had somehow ordered a movie.    Charlie and I have never even ordered a movie!!  Not quite sure how it happened!   I kept telling Cheryl “I am sure he didn’t order one, maybe it [...]

First Day of ‘School’

Today Gus had his first day of Mother’s Day out at the Baptist Church near us.   He did so well!  When we walked into the building to drop him off, we heard lots of screaming!   They did tell us the first few weeks are a little emotional.  Gus was calm and cool amidst all the chaos.  [...]
